Typographically interpret Canto 33 of Paradiso to introduce The Divine Comedy for a new audience.
Response/
To introduce The Divine Comedy to a new audience, this publication is aimed at people experiencing grief, highlighting how Dante’s journey from Inferno through to Paradiso mirrors, in many ways, the path one might take through grief. Its purpose is to support readers in understanding their experience and beginning to come to terms with what is happening in their lives.
The cantos are formatted to encourage a slower reading pace, creating space for reflection. By engaging with the text, readers may begin to recognise their own emotions and experiences within Dante’s journey.
At the end of each canto, workshop pages invite the reader to reflect on how they’re feeling in the moment, noting their emotions and exploring how these might connect with Dante’s experiences.
Over time, these pages become a record of the reader’s personal journey through grief, offering a space for retrospection and a way to look back on how far they’ve come.
